Fischer Guest House

Every addition has three choices: copy, compete, or compliment. Merely expanding the current home in the exact same style bored the client, and a detached structure of a completely different style had little chance of being approved by the neighborhood association. The design for this guest house addition took its material cues from the original house, but instead of replicating its rectilinear forms, broke free and followed the curves of the existing pool. The resulting relationship between architecture and landscape created a new form that was sympathetic to the main house and yet completely unique in its character..
