Northview Tower - Lobby Renovation

Built in 1967, Northview Tower is a rare example of the modernist style known as Brutalism. Very few examples from this era remain in San Antonio; especially at this scale. Although the exterior has remained virtually intact in its original form, the lobby was remodeled in 1972 in a manner that destroyed the historic integrity of the building. ryb studio’s design brings back the original character of the building using materials and details found in the original drawings. Updates for ADA, security, graphics, maintenance, and functional layout were addressed in the design, but in a manner that could easily be assumed to be a part of the original design.
